How I Approach Life and How I Appear To Others:
Modest, unobtrusive, and often rather quiet, I am a person who is content to be in the background or to serve as an assistant, in the supporting role rather than in the lead. I am quite humble in my own assessment of myself and I have a very strong perfectionistic attitude, with a tendency to be overly self-critical. No matter how well I do something, I always see the flaws in it and how it could be improved. Often I will simply refuse to attempt something because I feel I cannot meet my own high standards.

I have an eye for detail and get upset when something is not done just so, usually something others consider rather inconsequential or trivial. I am hard to please and my relationships with others may suffer because of this. I also have refined sensitivities and am very discriminating and particular in my choice of foods, clothes, friends, artwork, etc. Order in my environment is very important to me.

I step into situations rather cautiously, and not without realistically assessing all of the risks and potential advantages involved. Unless something is a safe bet, I am unlikely to dive into it. I tend to underestimate my own capacities and to lack confidence and trust in life. Worrying is a bad habit of mine. On the other hand, I rarely fall flat on my face and what I do, I do very well.

My Real Motivation:
I am a gambler and an adventurer at heart, one who loves to take risks, to discover and explore new worlds, and to take the untried path rather than the safe, reliable one. I am an independent soul, freedom-loving, and often very restless. I need a lifestyle that provides opportunities for travel, movement, change, and meeting new people. A steady routine which offers much in the way of security but little in the way of space and freedom is odious to me.

To me, life is a journey, an adventure, endlessly interesting and rich with possibilities, and it may be difficult for me to decide where to focus my attention and efforts. I probably traveled around and experimented with many different paths before I settled on a particular career. Or I may go from one project to the next, for once the challenge and vital interest is gone, I am very quick to move on. Commitment, discipline, focus, and concentration are not my strong points. I can be irresponsible and disinclined to take on the burdens and limitations of adult life.

An incurable optimist, I have big dreams and hopes for the future and am usually pursuing some distant goal. I have a great deal of faith and trust in life and failures don't crush my spirit. I always bounce back from disapointments, often with another bright dreams or scheme. I have a sporting, playful attitude toward life and am philosophical about my mistakes. I have the ability to sense future trends, to see the big picture, and I like to theorize and speculate. However, attending to all of the details and practical requirements of implementing my theories is bothersome to me.

I express myself in a very open and straightforward manner and am often blunt and tactless as well. Because I do not take myself too seriously, I may not realize how deeply my candid statements can wound more sensitive souls. In fact, though I may not realize it, my insensitivity and lack of understanding regarding others' feelings is probably one of my worst faults.

I do enjoy friendship and comradery, but I need freedom also and do not do well with a possessive, clinging, or emotionally demanding partner. I am quite generous myself, and heartily dislike pettiness in others. Someone who shares my ideals, my sense of fun, and my zest for life would be the right companion for me.

Mental Interests and Abilities:
I possess vision and foresight, and my mind is often occupied with big ideas, plans, and goals for the future. I am interested in what is possible and what is on the horizon, rather than what has already been done. The study of philosophy, religion, politics, or education is of interest to me, and I am more concerned with theories and concepts than with specific applications. I am not inclined to focus on any one practical; I find it awksome to deal with details and particulars. I have a gambling instinct and enjoy speculative enterprises and new ventures. Business, advertising, and promotion would be good for me also.

Moods, Feelings, Romance:
I am not easily moved by emotional displays and can be curiously detached from my own and others' emotions. It's almost as if I could turn my feelings on and off at will so I should be careful not to leave the switch "off" too often, for I could easily become too impersonal. Certainly, my sympathy and concern extends much beyond my immediate family. In my personal relationships, I insist upon a certain amount of independence and the freedom to pursue friendships with as many people, of both sexes, as I choose. I do not appreciate a jealous, possessive partner.

I feel comfortable in an atmosphere that is open and experimental, and I have little taste for convention and tradition. Finally, I am single.
